Parents Please Read – Important Information!
Dear Parents,
MUSIC REGISTRATION:
St. Canice’s Instrumental Music Programme will be carrying out music registration for next year on the following dates. (Place of registration will be indicated on the day).
Surnames beginning with:
A – J (inclusive) Thursday 2nd June from 1.45pm
K – Z (inclusive) Friday 3rd June from 1.45pm
Alternatively there will be an opportunity to register at the school on Wednesday 1st June from 7pm to 8pm.
Given the current economic climate a decision has been taken to reduce the instrument hire charge by €7.00, to €35.00 per instrument. Also, to further assist parents during these difficult times we are extending the hire of wind and brass instruments from one year to two years.
If you wish your child to remain in the music programme and to avail of musical instrument hire, it is essential that you register during this period, as late registration may result in your child being unable to hire an instrument or join instrumental classes.
To allow you to calculate your fees for the year and to help you to decide on instrumental choices the tables attached show the options available depending on the class and the fees per class. There is a €10 Registration Fee to cover administration and insurance costs which each member of the programme must pay, then costs can be calculated according to the table attached.
Example 1: Your child is in 3rd class and plays violin and wishes to take up flute and is a member of the orchestra. Your payment consists of:
Registration Fee €10
Instrumental hire for violin €35
Instrumental hire for flute €35
Fee for orchestra membership €50
Fee for Grade 1 Theory Exam €22
TOTAL €152
(All tuition fees are billed by and payable to the instrumental teachers at the commencement of lessons) – September & February.
Example 2: Your child is in 4th class and plays viola and guitar.
Your payment consists of:
Registration Fee €10
Instrumental hire for viola €35
Fee for orchestra membership €50
Fee for Grade 2 Theory Exam €22
TOTAL €117
