Unlucky start!
Our Roinn C campaign began today in James Park, when Dunnamaggin beat us by two points in a very close encounter. for the second day running, we failed to register a score in the second half when, even against the strong breeze, we had the lion’s share of possession.
Despite claims that the visitor’s late last goal was a dubious one, we really have no one to blame but ourselves for this defeat. We had numerous chances to add to our half time tally of 2-3, but failed to do so.
Our scores in the first half came from Jay Meaghar, with a good point, 2 neat opportunists goals from Shane McGeary, a fantastic Mark Power point and a well converted free from the impressive Lee McEnroe.
Our finest performers today were: Conor Cantwell, Kevin Walsh, Philip Obisanya, Evan Clarke and Mark Power. Also, when Johnny Collins arrived late after a music appointment, he made a great contribution, and is one to watch for the future.
Next match next week will be another tough game against Gaelscoil, who we drew with yesterday in Roinn A. this will give us a chance to get back on course!
