Catholic Schools’ Week
Grandparents Day
Our inaugural Grandparents day was a huge success. Thanks to all the Grandparents/Special People who took the time to come to mass and to visit our school on the day. It was a pleasure and a great experience for all concerned. Apologies for the length of the tea queue!  Thanks to Mr Hanrick and Ms Conroy’s 5th class who prepared the mass, to 6th class who provided the buns and to Ms O’Neill’s 4th class who let us use their classroom. Tearoom entertainment was by Anna Walsh, Marie Boland, Jenna Raggett and  Elizabeth Boland with their String Quartet. It was an experience to be repeated hopefully, with some minor improvements to our catering arrangements.

Haiti Earthquake Appeal
There was a huge response to this appeal. Sr Brigid is delighted to announce that a total of €2,694 was raised. This was split between Concern, Goal, Trócaire, Irish Red Cross, UNICEF and Oxfam. Thank you to everyone who donated money on the day.

Queries/ Complaints
It’s the time of the year to remind people that feedback is always welcome even if it is a complaint.  This can be done in person, by phone or by letter. Complaints will always be dealt with in a sensitive manner and children will not be “picked on” by any member of staff as a result of a complaint being made. In general most issues can be sorted out to everyone’s satisfaction.
However, anonymous complaints/letters cannot be entertained and in order for a complaint/issue to be dealt with it a name must be given. The only exception to this is where a child’s safety is at risk. In such a situation, the anonymous complaint would be dealt with in accordance with our Child Protection Child First Guidelines and in conjunction with the relevant outside agencies.
