School Re-Opens Monday September 3rd 2007: Pupils Finish at 12 noon
Clean Green Class Competition
There was a fantastic response from all classes to this competition. Every class made a big effort and all rooms were spick and span. The winners in a closely fought contest were:
Senior Classes: Joint First Mr Nolan and Mr Crowley who won a trip to the cinema.
Middle Classes: Ms Doheny’s who won a trip to The Cage
Junior Classes: Ms Sheehan who also won a trip to the Cage
Swimming Gala
Congratulations to our girls swimming team who came 3rd in the schools’ gala and to our boys team who came 1st. The boys’ relay team deserve a particular mention as lead by Captain David Prendergast they had to dig deep to win the relay when it went to a re-run.
Parents’ Association
A big thank you from the Parents’ Association to all who baked and bought at their recent cake sale. Over 600euro was raised.
And from us, mile bhuiochas to the Parents’ Association for all their input during the year and particularly for the fabulous Yearbook they presented to the 6th class students at their Graduation Mass. This mass was the centrepoint of a lovely night where we bid farewell to our 6th class students. Go n-eiri leo go léir.
Mission Money
Great generosity is shown by pupils and parents each year in the mission money collection. Thanks to Sr Brigid who organises these collections and distributes the money to various causes. As you can see from the information overleaf, a huge sum was raised and many charities have received donations.
Staff News
Sadly, we are bidding farewell to two of our staff members this year as Kay O’Donnell and Paidrigin Ni Dhubhluachra have decided to retire this year. We wish them many years of health and happiness.
Our best wishes also to Mr Hoyne who is getting married during the summer.
We are delighted to be welcoming Ms Fitzpatrick back after her career break
We wish Phil all the best as she goes on career break this year..
We had hoped to have replacement teachers appointed by now, but unfortunately we are still waiting for Department sanction for 3 of our posts and cannot advertise until we receive it. Hopefully, the parish mass bulletins will have news of any new appointments during the summer!
Finally, thanks to everybody for the great year which we have had and which was made possible by co-operation and hard work between us all. Enjoy the holidays and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
