Dates to note:

• Monday September 22nd. Meeting for Junior Infant Parents. 8.30-9.30 followed by refreshments.

The Board of Management wishes to remind parents that supervision begins at 8.40 and school begins at 8.50. The Board accepts no responsibility for anyone on the premises before that time. Similarly, school finishes at 2.45pm and a ten minute leeway period is accepted. Again, children left on the premises after this time are not the responsibility of the Board of Management.
Morning Play
Morning play is going well apart from the Junior Infant children. There are so many parents waiting with the children until the bell goes, that it is causing congestion in the Junior yard and in the car park.
For the moment the Junior Infant class door will be opened at 8.40 to allow parents to drop in their children. All other classes play in the yard until the bell goes and then line up.
On wet days the school doors will open at 8.40 and all children come in by their normal class door as they arrive.
Sports Equipment
Thank you to everyone who sent in tokens for the Sports Equipment before the summer. Ms Sheehan sent in an order and we now have a great range of new equipment for P.E.
Fundraising
Please support our Silver Circle draw. This is the main fundraiser and provides the school with funds for essential class and extra-curricular equipment.
Maintenance
Over the next couple of weeks, the drains in the yard are being cleared out and the board is going to have the waste ground at the Freshford Rd. side levelled and reseeded. This should improve the flooding problems and also provide extra space for play. Again, if you have any ideas on ways to utilise this space please let me know.
Sport
Timetable for girls’ sports in the field at lunch time for 3rd to 6th classes is as follows:
Tues and Thurs: Camogie
Wed. and Fri: Gaelic football.
Sinéad Fitpatrick resumes dance classes next Tueday. 3rd to 6th will receive 6 sessions each over the course of the year.
