The Board of Management wishes to remind parents that supervision begins at 8.40 and school begins at 8.50. The Board accepts no responsibility for anyone on the premises before that time. Similarly, school finishes at 2.45pm and a ten minute leeway period is accepted. Again, children left on the premises after this time are not the responsibility of the Board of Management.
If you have been delayed for any reason please phone the school to let us know.
Morning Play
Well done to all the new Junior Infants who are making their own way into class without their parents. Only a few left to go!
Pandemic H1N1
We have not been informed of any cases of this flu in the school so far. We will continue to follow the procedures given to us by the health authorities. This means that any child displaying any of the symptoms as listed will be isolated and parents contacted to collect the child. We are obliged to follow the procedures given to us as we are not medical experts and are not qualified to make a diagnosis.
Front Door
Reminder: ring the bell and you will be buzzed in from the inside. You must still use the handle.
I.T./Website
The problem with accessing the website has been resolved. It was due to a conflict between NCTE server and its web hosting company.
Comenius European project returns to the school this year. Geography, Local Traditions and Music will feature this time round.
Fundraising
Please support our Silver Circle draw. This is the main fundraiser and provides the school with funds for essential class and extra-curricular equipment.
Sport
Timetable for girls’ sports in the field at lunch time for 3rd to 6th classes is as follows:
5th & 6th Monday & Tuesday : Gaelic football. Thursday & Friday: Camogie
3rd & 4th Monday & Tuesday: Camogie. Thursday & Friday: Gaelic Football
This means that there are 4 days’ lunch time sports for all girls from 3rd to 6th New players always welcome.
Sinéad Fitpatrick has resumed dance classes.3rd to 6th will receive 6 sessions each over the course of the year.
6th class have begun Life-Saving and C.P.R.
Mission Money
Thursday Oct. 1st will be a “No Uniform” Day in aid of the Niall Mellon project which funds the building, by Irish people, of houses in South Africa. ( €1 approx. per child)
Staffing
Congratulations to Ms Lawlor who has been offered a permanent job in another school in the county. We wish her all the best. Ms O’Neill will now take over the class for Ms Bolger’s leave.
