Dates to Remember:
Tuesday 21st: School Carol Service in Hall. 1pm
Thursday 23rd: Holidays. School Closes 12 noon for pupils.
Christmas Eve: Family Mass 6.30pm St. Canice’s Church.
Monday Jan. 10th: School re-opens. Normal Hours.
Friday Jan. 21st: Staff Meeting. School Closes 12 noon for pupils.

School Carol Service
All parents and friends are invited to our annual Carol Service in the hall on Tuesday 21st at 1pm. All classes and children take part. As usual, we have collected non-perishable food items for the needy as part of our preparation for our carol service. Items can be brought in tomorrow as well. These will be sent to the local St. Vincent de Paul Society. Thanks to Ms O’Brien for her work in organising this event.

Christmas Plays
There have been many fantastic productions and much excitement over the past week. Thanks to teachers, children and parents for their hard work in preparing and staging these plays.


Building News
The building of the new Autism unit and extra classroom will begin after Christmas. Guilfoyle Building Construction has been awarded the contract and we look forward to working with them on this project.

Breakfast
Thanks to all who supported the Music Committee’s Breakfast last week. A total of €1300 was raised.

Silver Circle
The Silver Circle brought in a profit of €9,650. Thank you again for your generous support.


Lost Property
Please collect items from lost property before Christmas as they will be cleared out over the holidays.

Weather
If weather conditions are bad enough at any stage to close the school, the information will be available on KCLR and the school website www.stcanices.net An email will also be sent to those who have submitted their names for the mailing list. If you wish to be added to this list please send an email with your youngest child’s name and class to stcanicesnotes@gmail .com

Gairdín na Scoile
Thanks to Tom Ryan and Eddie Power who spent a cold Saturday pruning in the garden!
Ms O’Brien is delighted to have been successful in obtaining a €300 grant from Kilkenny County Council for future work in the garden.
